Lummi Nation check burning at Cherry Point

Members of Lummi Nation protest the proposed coal terminal at Cherry Point in 2012, by burning a large check stamped “Non-Negotiable.” On Monday, May 9, 2016, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sided with the Lummi Nation’s request to deny permits at Cherry Point, upholding the tribe’s treaty rights.
